Fondens formål
Carlsbergfondet yder støtte til fremragende grundforskning på øverste internationale niveau inden for naturvidenskab, samfundsvidenskab og humaniora. Denne støtte er tiltænkt danske forskere samt udenlandske forskere med en solid tilknytning til danske forskningsmiljøer. Fondet prioriterer højt udvikling af forskertalenter og sikring af fremtidig forskningskapacitet i Danmark. Derudover lægges der vægt på internationalisering af forskningstalenter og visionær, banebrydende forskning. Målet for Carlsbergfondet er at fremme enestående grundforskning på et internationalt førende niveau inden for de nævnte fagområder. Særligt fokus rettes mod at fremme talentudvikling og generationsskifte i dansk grundforskning, styrke den internationale profil for danske forskningstalenter og understøtte visionær forskningsinnovation.

Research Project on the Danish-Icelandic reception of Nordic antiquity - A postdoctoral fellowship Two two-year postdoctoral fellowships on the subject of the Danish-Icelandic reception of Nordic antiquity from the Renaissance to national romanticism and modernism Two postdoctoral fellows: one fellow will be affiliated with the Museum of National History at Frederiksborg Castle and focus on the fields of history, art history or ethnology. The other fellow will be affiliated with the National Museum of Iceland and the University of Iceland and focus on a field within comparative literature Applicants, who hold a PhD degree or have submitted the PhD thesis before 1 October Research projects illustrating the perception of the Nordic antiquity of different ages and how the Norse reception has been used to form a national as well as a Nordic identity Projects focusing on how Nordic antiquity has been perceived and applied in science as well as culture, literature and art, and how it has influenced the perception of identity and “nation building” during different periods General operating expenses with DKK 2,000 per month
