The Carlsberg Foundation supports excellent basic research at the highest international level in the fields of natural science, social science and humanities carried out by Danish researchers, and foreign researchers with an established connection to Danish research environments. The Carlsberg Foundation gives high priority to talent development and succession planning in Danish research, internationalisation of research talents, and visionary cutting-edge research. The mission of the Carlsberg Foundation is to support outstanding basic research at the highest international level within the natural sciences, social sciences and humanities. The Carlsberg Foundation is particularly keen to support talent development and generational change in Danish basic research, internationalisation of the Danish talent pool and visionary research innovation.

Outstanding professors with international experience - A Distinguished Associate Professor Fellowship grant One-to-three-year fellowships for outstanding newly appointed associate professors or tenure-track assistant professors with international experience Independent research group or environment, including the acquisition of research infrastructure (equipment, register data, etc.) and the formation of national/international networks With grants that may cover salaries for postdocs and PhD students. It is, however, a condition that enrolment of the PhD student at a Danish doctoral school ('PhD school') is guaranteed.
