The Carlsberg Foundation supports excellent basic research at the highest international level in the fields of natural science, social science and humanities carried out by Danish researchers, and foreign researchers with an established connection to Danish research environments. The Carlsberg Foundation gives high priority to talent development and succession planning in Danish research, internationalisation of research talents, and visionary cutting-edge research. The mission of the Carlsberg Foundation is to support outstanding basic research at the highest international level within the natural sciences, social sciences and humanities. The Carlsberg Foundation is particularly keen to support talent development and generational change in Danish basic research, internationalisation of the Danish talent pool and visionary research innovation.

Internationalisation of Danish talents and talent development in Danish research - An Internationalisation Fellowship grant Outstanding Ph.D.'s with a 12-month research stay at leading international research institutions outside Denmark. In exceptional cases an applicant can apply for a shorter stay (between 6 and 12 months) A maximum of two years. If the applicant is planning to stay for more than one year, he or she may apply for a grant for the second year at the next annual application deadline Applicants, who hold a Ph.D. or have submitted the Ph.D. thesis before 1 October With DKK 350,000 per year, if the grant holder is travelling without children. DKK 425,000 per year, if the grant holder is travelling with children
