Styrelsen skaber fundamentet for en videreudvikling af det høje kvalitetsniveau i dansk forskning og på de videregående uddannelser samt arbejder for et godt internationalt samspil på både forsknings- og uddannelsesområdet.

Only applicants from the Nordic countries – Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, the Baltic countries – Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania – and the autonomous regions of Åland, Southern Schleswig, the Faroe Islands and Greenland In order to receive a Nordplus Horizontal grant all activities must take place in one or more of the eight participating countries or in the autonomous regions listed above Innovative project and network activities spanning more than one education sector Institutions and organisations working with education and lifelong learning, and projects, may also involve partners outside the field of education Project and network activities from Nordplus Horizontal must involve participants from at least three Nordic and/or Baltic countries Participation from institutions and organisations such as enterprises, public and private sector organisations, labour market organisations and various administrative entities, in addition to institutions and organisations involved in education at any level Several kinds of activities, such as workshops, seminars, conferences, production of educational material, establishing courses, dissemination and exploitation of results and experiences within the field of education, or projects buliding on and expanding other Nordplus projects Activities, that link education and work life, activities that concern entrepreneurship, integration, democracy and active citizenship, inclusion of marginalised groups, digitalisation/ICT, in-service training and further education for teachers at all levels, development of new teaching methods, environment and sustainable development, health, sports, art and culture. The main point is that the activity is cross-sectorial and educational Applications, which also include participants from countries outside the Nordic/Baltic countries, that are deemed relevant by the network or by the project partners. However, expenses for partners from outside the Nordplus countries are not eligible for financial support Projects with maximum duration of three years See "Handbook" in necessary documents for further information
