We award research grants of around DKK 500 million each year to Danish-based, biomedical sciences research – primarily in the field of brain research. The Lundbeck Foundation’s commercial activities encompass three large subsidiaries, an international portfolio of 18 venture capital companies, a portfolio of small biotech companies based on Danish university research and in-house administration of assets of around DKK 14 billion.

Extraordinary research ideas that challenge the norms and prevailing ideas within the fields of biomedical, clinical or health science through the LF Experiment call Applicants, who hold a PhD degree or have similar experience Unique, high-risk ideas which may have a limited chance of succeeding but which have great potential to transform our understanding of an important research field if they do With up to DKK 2 million for a period of up to two years The proposed research must be within the fields of biomedical, clinical or health science, or must facilitate research within these fields Breakthrough ideas which hold the potential to fundamentally change its field of research WIth a demand that the research must be based at a non-commercial Danish research institution

Drug trials conducted, either wholly or partially, in collaboration with commercial enterprises. Consequently, the foundation only funds investigator-initiated trials conducted independently of industry, whose aim may be, for example, to investigate effects, side effects, prognostic factors or biomarkers. The deadline is the 15th of August at 1pm. All other applications chosen by the Panel will be funded. Applicants will be notified of approval of a grant or rejection after the Research and Prize Committee’s review.
