Fondens formål
Fonden FABRIKKEN for Kunst og Design er et produktions- og videnscenter i København, hvor professionelle kunstnere og designere arbejder. Her bliver produceret alt fra videokunst, foto, maleri og digtsamlinger til skulpturer, møbler og balkjoler. FABRIKKEN huser 53 atelierer og en kæmpestor produktionshal, der også bliver udlejet til events. FABRIKKEN prioriterer formidling, international udveksling og netværk højt. Derfor faciliterer vi artist in residence-programmer, afholder den årlige kunstmesse Alt_Cph, samarbejder med lokale skoler om outreach-projekter og meget mere.

Artists and curators residing in the Nordic and the Baltic countries with FAIR residency Copenhagen (Residency with studio at FABRIKKEN in 1-3 month) Professional artists or curators residing in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Greenland, the Faroe Islands, Åland, Estonia, Lithuania or Latvia Early career artists and curators, who wish to further and challenge their practice in a generous environment of early to mid-career artists With a large private studio at FABRIKKEN - a not-for-profit art community with studios for aorund 70 artists/designers, guided by the spirit of resource-sharing With a monthly grant of minimum 5.000 DKK (approx. 670 EUR), travel expenses to and from the home country With accommodation in Copenhagen - shared with a local host (artist/curator). As a resident you will have access to a private bedroom but share kitchen, bathroom etc. With access to FABRIKKENS event program and the all-important communal Wednesday lunches With possible access to a 1.000 m2 production space - a shared work space at FABRIKKEN which is used for artistic production, exhibitions, and events With preparatory skype meetings between the program manager and the artist/curator conducted before arrival to maximise the value of the residency Proposals for an artistic or curatorial research project. The project should contribute to developing new knowledge and insight into the field in question New or recently initiated projects of a high standard with regards to content, coherence, and expression. The resident will receive active mentoring and support during the residency With connecting the resident with Danish artists and other art professionals through meetings, openings, and other professional and social events With the programme-manager collaborating in organizing a public event during the residency Applicants that motivate their decision to apply for a residency in a Danish art context

Beskrivelse
Closing time for applications: 4 pm CEST on June 4th. The FAIR residency program is subject to funding. Artists/curators accepted into the program will be informed of potential changes to the program as early as possible.
